The exhibition by Marc Chagall at the MUDEC in Milan, curated by the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, exhibits the author’s works in the context of his cultural background as you can guess from the artist’s extraordinary collection of paintings, drawings and prints. The exhibition contains works by Chagall that have been donated for the most part by family and friends; among these, you can admire exclusive pieces that refer to the artist’s youth in the Eastern European region. The aim of this exhibition is to relate these first works with the cultural world in which they were born: the language, religious customs and social conventions of the Jewish community, as well as the colors and forms that Chagall has absorbed since early childhood. The guided tour will be preceded by a meeting in the Auditorium with Paola Cappitelli, responsible for the development of 24 ORE Cultura, who, in addition to making an introduction to the exhibition and telling anecdotes and curiosities, will talk about the projects, the perspectives and management of such a dynamic space as MUDEC.
