Between inflation, the risk of a debt attack and the effective implementation of the PNRR, the economy is at the center of attention in the first months of 2023. How to manage the immediate challenges and, at the same time, how to solve the structural problems of the country, making the best use of the potential offered (but not yet fully exploited) of the PNRR?

What are prospects for the Italian economy in 2023? And in 2024? Are the risks related to inflation and public debt real? And how can the PNRR help overcome the limits of our economy?
 
Participants will be able to discuss with Alessandro Merli, Professor of International Economics at the Bologna Business School and expert on ECB policies, to better understand the challenges and opportunities for the Italian economy in the coming months. In particular, the meeting will focus on the following aspects:

• ECB manoeuvres and interest rate forecasts
• the impact of the Ukrainian conflict and China-US relations on the Italian and European economy
• the outlook for Italy between growth, debt and inflation
• focus PNRR: what has been done, what still needs to be done.
