The European electronic money project is a potentially revolutionary and complex issue to be implemented. 
Indeed, the path to the digital euro calls for both public and private interests, representing an important weapon in the ECB’s ongoing battle to redefine its monetary authority, recovering a centrality questioned by alternative electronic payments such as cryptocurrencies and other solutions already made available by banks, big tech and other states. 
 
Why does the ECB need to issue the digital euro? What will be the characteristics of this new currency? And what are the effects on the financial system and daily habits? 
 
The aim of this webinar organized in collaboration with Egea is to offer participants an opportunity to deepen the characteristics and impacts of the new electronic money on which the European Central Bank is working and which could soon reach the pockets (virtual) of all, changing both the functioning of the financial system and the daily habits of citizens.  To do so, they will have the opportunity to confront Emilio Barucci, Professor of finance and expert, among other things, of macroeconomics and fintech and author of "Euro Digitale. A challenge to be won in the interest of all", which will deepen: 

• the technical characteristics of the digital Euro
• monetary sovereignty and the path to electronic currencies
• the role of banks
• impacts on citizens and electronic payments.
