The importance of listening to be more effective leaders: A conductor's experience (with networking lunch)

Magna PT Via dei Ciclamini, 4 - 70026 MODUGNO (BA)

Becoming better leaders requires knowing how to find cues for improvement everywhere, and conducting, can offer several very interesting ones for executives as well.

Like a manager grappling with ever-changing teams, the conductor must know how to interface and quickly find a connection with ever-changing orchestras. The only possible key to being able to lead them all while remaining true to oneself is to be able to listen and increase one's ability to understand who is in front of one. Daniele Agiman, an internationally renowned musician and conductor, reveals what factors make this attunement possible, and how to stay listening to one's teams, especially younger ones, in order to update one's style without distorting oneself.

Participants will be able to:

  • understand the value of listening for a manager and, in particular, how to apply it to their team to make their leadership more effective
  • understand how to quickly tune in to a new or changing team to move it in the desired direction
  • be more aware of one's nonverbal language and the impact it can have on one's employees, to avoid conveying anxiety or negative emotions
  • draw examples from the complex role of the conductor to bring back to one's managerial role.
