The energy transition and decarbonization represent one of the greatest challenges ever faced by European industry, particularly for a manufacturing-oriented country like Italy.
However, while this transition is crucial in the agendas of European governments, it presents significant challenges, especially for energy-intensive companies.
 
What is the current state of this transition at the European and Italian levels? How are the energy market and Italy’s supply strategies evolving? And ultimately, how much and in what ways can new energy technologies help businesses, especially those in "hard-to-abate" sectors, remain competitive while needing to reassess their supply and production methods?
 
The meeting will be divided into two parts: the first dedicated to an overview of the Italian and European situation concerning energy sources and the state of the transition; and the second focused on the state of the art of energy and decarbonization technologies, with the aim of understanding the context in which companies will operate in the coming years.
 
Following the meeting, participants will have:

• a projection of the energy market by 2030: will the price gap between Italian energy and that of other european countries increase or decrease?
• insights into the evolution of energy and decarbonization technologies, offering a clearer understanding of the contributions these can make to businesses (from hydrogen to renewables, nuclear, and carbon capture)
• concrete examples of decarbonization: The ENI case, along with common opportunities and challenges that companies will need to navigate in the coming decades.
