Palazzo Strozzi Piazza degli Strozzi - 50123 FIRENZE

The Angelico exhibition, organized by Palazzo Strozzi in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Tuscany and the Museum of San Marco, offers a unique opportunity to explore the work of Fra Giovanni, known as Beato Angelico, one of the undisputed masters of 15th-century Florentine art. This exceptional event brings together an extraordinary collection of artworks, made possible by loans from prestigious international museums such as the Louvre in Paris, the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin, and the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

Renowned for an artistic style that bridges Gothic heritage with the emerging principles of Renaissance art, Beato Angelico (circa 1395–1455) created works celebrated for their mastery of perspective and the use of light to establish relationships between figures and space. The exhibition offers an unprecedented exploration of the unparalleled quality of this artist’s work, highlighting his capacity for artistic innovation intertwined with a profound religious sensibility rooted in meditation on the sacred and its connection to the human experience.

Before the visit, participants will also have the opportunity to attend an introduction to the artist and his works by Ludovica Sebregondi, art historian and in-house curator for Palazzo Strozzi’s exhibitions.
