The new Italian government faces three decisive geopolitical challenges. The first, on the energy front, sees Italy committed to making agreements with new international partners so as not to submit to the blackmail of Russia for the supply of gas. The second, at European level, where the it must reach a common solution to the crisis to protect the strategic interests of companies. The third, in the Mediterranean, where Italy has the opportunity to occupy the space left "vacant" by Russia to return protagonist, consolidating relations with the countries in North Africa and giving vent to the maritime vocation of the South.  
 
Three interconnected and fundamental challenges to understand the future of Italy.
